Back In The Day is made up of five musicians with a wealth of experience behind them, from playing all over Europe with rock bands and circuses, to playing cruise ships, on live TV and on adverts broadcast across the world.
As a group they have been together for over a decade; this collective experience brings out the best in them as musicians and performers allowing them to provide you with an unrivalled evening’s entertainment.
Percita
I’ve been singing since a very early age and started taking it more seriously at the age of 14 from when I was lucky enough to have both classical and contemporary training at two amazing London music schools. Since then I’ve performed at a variety of venues and events and have some recording experience too. I am the main point of contact from your first enquiry onwards and can guarantee you will receive every ounce of help possible and 100% commitment from Back In The Day from first contact until our performance ends on the big day!
Ben
I’ve been playing guitar since the age of 10, and playing live since I was 12 years old. Since then, I’ve played in and toured with originals and covers bands across Europe, playing rock, soul, blues, pop and jazz along the way. I’ve played in all types of venues large and small, including theatres, clubs, hotels, cruise ships and even a tour in a Danish circus!
Martin
I have been learning any number of exciting ways to play root notes since 1993 and have been in a number of spectacularly unsuccessful bands, most notably “Piglet Clone”, “23Beasts” and “InSoFar”. My musical journey has included jazz, musical theatre and of course pop covers with “Back in the Day” – as well as the humiliation of falling over onstage TWICE during the same song at consecutive gigs. Fortunately there have been some brighter moments too – playing in front of thousands at Guilfest and the Exit Festival, being famous is Serbia for five minutes, having a video poured all over Scuzz TV and playing live on BBC Radio 5 in the middle of the night, when no-one was listening.
Steve
I have played drums since the USA hosted the FIFA World Cup Finals in 1994. My playing career has taken me across Europe and America having played everything from Jazz gigs to pantos, bars, clubs, boats, theatres, barn dances, festivals and Top Of The Pops! I studied my degree in Contemporary Music Performance in the early 2000′s and have taught several hundred students since then. I treat every gig like it’s the last gig I’ll play and put in 100% come show time. I am looking forward to being involved in your event.
Max
I have been playing guitar since the age of 13 and singing for as long as I can remember. I have toured the UK with different bands and played countless shows over the last ten years, from large venues and festivals to intimate acoustic solo performances. I can adapt my voice to any musical style, whether it be belting out rock and roll classics, rapping or a swooning love song, I will always ensure the songs you love will sound like they should while still having a unique edge.
Oli
I’m a sound man with more than ten years experience in live production. In that time I’ve worked with covers and originals bands, solo acts and choirs at clubs, theatres and hotels across the UK. I have loads of experience working with clients, event organisers and banqueting managers, ensuring that things run smoothly and everyone enjoys the show! As a DJ, I’ve played all over the place. I play a broad range of music, tailored to suit the crowd whatever the event.
